What Is Social Media & How To Manage It?

Social media refers to a web-applications that are designed to allow users to share content, images and many more advertising stuffs quickly, efficiently, and in real-time. Nowadays most people define it as apps installed on their smartphone. The ability to share images, opinions, events, advertisements etc in real-time has transformed the style of living and also, the way of doing business.

There are different varieties of social media available nowadays to fulfil various purposes, like:
lSocial networking (Facebook, LinkedIn).
lMicroblogging (Twitter, Tumblr).
lPhoto sharing (Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest).
lVideo sharing (YouTube, Facebook Live, Periscope, Vimeo).

A businessman who uses social media as an integral part of their marketing strategy, usually finds comparable results. The ad campaign through social media shows profitable results, if the marketing effort is put through it. Earlier, social marketing was considered to be a high priced activity, but not so today. Like sometimes people spending dollars on a Facebook, ad campaign and get no result on investment. But nowadays It needs comparably zero investment.
One of the common mistakes a user makes in handling it is to open up an account on every social media platform they think is relevant like facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, etc and then leave them with no activity. Just creating an account at any of the social media platforms does not mean that the business is into social media.
If a retailer is active on social media & generating leads to improve its sales volume, the retailer must always think from the customer's point of view. The retailer goal should be to provide the content that is relevant to the customer and keep them engaging & should be shared with others by customers.
Social media must be public oriented. A business can be highly successful if a retailer knows how to use these tools efficiently, effectively and easy from a customer point of view. If one use social media he/she needs to engage with customers, involve them into plans and ask them for their opinion. This creates a dialogue which leads to a shared post which leads to engaged followers and if this is followed by others then, it will generate more leads 
Images & infographics are the keys to attract traffic towards social media post. So it is always considered good including an image with any post. This dramatically increases the chances of the post being shared by some of the followers with their network. Since the ultimate aim is to have good followers who can promote the business by sharing the post and the image content enables it to a great extent. Building up a large network of followers is always great, share all the posting with the network, and those people will share the post with their other followers, and hence giving a better business promotion result.
